I’m making my own kombucha for a couple of years now and it all started when my son gave me a 'starter'.  Yes, it was my son who provided that odd looking living thing in a glass to me years ago.

As I was going on my journey I had some ups and downs and have to admit that I neglected it from time to time which resulted in destroying the culture. Guess, I got busy and distracted when it all took a turn in the wrong direction. If this happens to you just ask around and most likely you find someone who will happily donate a starter and get you going again. It is like looking after your plants – you need to water and feed them from time to time or they give up on you.

Do we not all go through phases of change and trying out a new look?  Some spend hours to find the latest fashion item and others hit the beauty salon or hairdresser. 

Change is good and every female will agree that a new outfit will lift the spirit. A visit to the beauty salon to be pampered for an hour is gold for the soul and a real treat [always ask and investigate what products they will use on your body].

So how about the hairdresser? Yes, we need a regular haircut especially if you have short hair like I do. But then there are all the extra services and most of them involve chemicals which we allow to be placed very closely to our body so they can soak in and penetrate nicely to overwrite our own personal beauty. 

As the year comes to an end and we are approaching the festive season we like to thank all our clients for the support and trust over the past 12 month.

This year the Buteyko AGM will take place in Ponsonby and I’m really looking forward to put names against some faces. There are several people from overseas flying in to join the 2 day event this weekend. I’m sure there will be a lot of exchange regarding case studies, new ideas to share and plenty to learn from all the experienced Buteyko practitioners.

Today has been a busy day for me baking and preparing a few goodies in my kitchen as my small contribution to the event. I have to admit that I did put my hand up to create gluten free and dairy free treats for the team and have my fingers crossed that everyone will enjoy it.

Over the last few month it has been a bit hectic at Shore Natura Health to add the final touches to our new look.  There are still new elements to come in the future so stay tuned.
